
In 1991, Dave Claunch was driving through the back roads of the Texas hill country, listening to his favorite band, Poi Dog Pondering when he had one of those "light bulb" moments: freelance creatives need clients and clients need creatives. Why not build a business to connect the two?
Dave had been providing IT support and doing freelance design and production work for local agencies for several years. As the demand for his services increased, Dave's workload became overwhelming, so he started outsourcing projects to other talented creative people he knew. Liaison Resources was born.
Liaison started brokering freelance graphic design projects, making temporary staff placements at local creative companies, and recruiting for long-term creative and marketing careers. Creatives were attracted to the concept of 100% paid health insurance and fair wages and businesses were attracted to the ease, flexibility, and cost effectiveness of working with a company that specializes in creative and marketing services.
In 1996, Liaison opened a satellite office in the Mile High City and in 2008 we expanded into the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Most recently, in 2010 we added our Houston operation. Today, Liaison continues to offer a broad range of services to businesses large and small, but we specialize in operating onsite, internal creative marketing groups for enterprise organizations.
Now, many years later, Poi Dog is still making music, and we're still pondering great ways to evolve the Liaison concept to serve the needs of our clients, employees and candidates. Give us a call and we'll explore the possibilities together!
